Practice Overview and Representative Experience:
Effective August 1, 1998, Jim transitioned to an Of Counsel status with the firm.

Jim has practiced law for over 40 years, has tried may jury trials, and continues to litigate for his clients. Effective August 1, 1998 Jim became "of counsel" to the firm. Jim is engaged in the full time practice of law and is an active Mediator and Arbitrator having completed over 230 Arbitration/Mediation matters. Jim graduated from Georgetown University in 1955.

Prior to graduation from Georgetown he attended Marine Corps "boot" training in the summer of 1952 at Parris Island, South Carolina.

Upon graduation from Georgetown in 1955, he received his Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps., attended The Basic School at Quantico, Virginia; took Basic Flight Training at Pensacola, Florida, received Advanced Flight Training at Memphis Naval Air Station.

Jim completed his Marine Corps duties as First Lieutenant in 1958.

Jim graduated from the Georgetown University Law School in 1962.

Upon return to civilian life he became a Claims Adjuster for the Travelers Insurance Company rising to a supervisory position before leaving Travelers Insurance Company in December of 1967 to enter the private practice of law.

Jim has been active in the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, including serving as President in 1984. Jim is a member of the Barristers, the Lawyers Club of Washington, D.C., and The Counsellors. Jim is past president of The Counsellors and was the Lawyer of the Year in 1994.

Jim was elected Defense Lawyer of the Year in 2004 by the District of Columbia Lawyers Association. Jim was the recipient of the Military Order of Iron Mike award from the Marine Corps League in 2000.
