Carol T. Stone joined the firm in October, 1981. She has more that 22 years of civil litigation experience in the state and federal courts, at the trial and appellate levels, in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Carol has substantial experience representing individual and corporate clients who find themselves named as defendants in litigation matters involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, breaches of contract and other business disputes, and professional liability (lawyers, accountants, doctors, dentists, real estate brokers/agents, and insurance brokers/agents). Carol has tried more than 100 cases, jury and non-jury.
Carol has defended civil litigants in more than 100 jury and non-jury trials and hundreds of procedural and dispositive motions in state and federal courts, primarily in Virginia. Carol has also handled bankruptcy matters, coverage issues and workers’ compensation cases, to include an adversary proceeding successfully tried in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Carol belongs to the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, the Fairfax County Bar Association and the Counsellors. Carol is a member of the Virginia State Bar Fifth District Committee for attorney discipline. She regularly attends the ABA Legal Malpractice Conferences and the Defense Research Institute Annual meetings.
Carol currently serves as managing partner in the Fairfax, Virginia office and Virginia team leader. |
